Frequently Asked
Answers before you call.
Everything we get asked most often — about estimates, insurance, timelines, certifications, and after-hours drop-off. Still have a question? Contact us.
Estimates
Is an estimate free?
Yes — every written estimate at Fresno Body Works is free of charge.
How long does an estimate take?
In-person estimates typically take no longer than 30 minutes. If you're short on time, drop your car off and pick it up later with the estimate complete.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments help us prepare and reduce wait time. You can request one online in under a minute.
What's an X-Ray estimate?
When damage may be hidden, we'll disassemble the vehicle to inspect underneath. This 'X-Ray' estimate is scheduled at your convenience and produces a more accurate number.
Insurance
Do I have to use the body shop my insurance recommends?
No. Under California Insurance Code §758.5 you can choose any repair shop. Your insurer must pay the reasonable cost of repair at your chosen shop.
Which insurers do you work with?
All of them. We're a Direct Repair Provider for State Farm®, Farmers®, Nationwide®, CSAA IE, Travelers®, Cal Casualty, Hartford, AAA, Mercury™, and many more.
What if you find hidden damage during the repair?
If we discover hidden damage after disassembly, we contact you and your insurer for approval before doing additional work. Nothing extra happens without your sign-off.
Repair Timelines & Cost
How long will my repair take?
Minor dents can be ready in a day or two. Heavier collision work can take two weeks or more. We provide a projected completion date with every estimate and update you regularly as the work progresses.
How much will it cost?
Once the estimator completes a comprehensive multi-point inspection, you'll receive an accurate written estimate. Our rates are competitive — we use every legitimate cost-savings method (PDR where possible, aftermarket parts when appropriate, careful planning) to keep your bill at a minimum.
Do you use aftermarket or OEM parts?
Both, depending on what's appropriate and what your insurer authorizes. We always discuss part choice with you — and on OEM-certified repairs (FCA, Honda/Acura, Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti), we use only genuine factory parts.
Certifications & Quality
Are you certified?
Yes — we're I-CAR Gold Class and ASE certified, plus manufacturer-certified for Lexus, Honda/Acura (ProFirst), Nissan/Infiniti, and the full FCA family (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Fiat). We're also a BBB Accredited Business and a member of the DuPont™ Performance Alliance™.
What kind of equipment do you use?
Caroliner frame diagnostic systems and Square Liner frame aligners, Prospot welders, and a state-of-the-art European downdraft spray/baking booth — the same standards used by vehicle manufacturers.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes — a lifetime warranty on all collision repair workmanship at every Fresno Body Works location.
Drop-Off & After Hours
Can I drop my car off after hours?
Yes. Each of our four locations has a secure after-hours key drop near the entrance. We process drop-offs the next business morning.
What if I need a tow?
Call us at (559) 298-8068 and we'll help coordinate a tow to the nearest Fresno Body Works location.
Is a rental car available?
If your policy includes rental coverage, we coordinate with your insurer and the rental agency so a vehicle is ready when you arrive.
